Our stunning new Winecellars room with its atmosphere of grand theatre. ‘Winecellars’ is dramatically rich, dark, and warm in style creating a mature and opulent feel. Seating up to 16, it is a room quite in harmony with the image and mood associated with quality wines and an established cellar.

‘Winecellars’ was specially commissioned by Alan Murchison on behalf of Enotria Winecellars to provide a showcase for their premium wines as part of a luxury fine dining experience.

Designed by Trevillion Interiors the room is sumptuously decorated and furnished in deep red and strikingly offset by a magnificent mercury-backed French Empire mirror dating from 1810 complete with black glass surround and antique cabinets.

Wines from the Enotria Winecellars portfolio adorn the walls in a modern contemporary fashion reminiscent of a wine cellar. Beetroot crushed velvet curtains, hand stitched with seed bead tassels dress the windows.

The room is dominated by a vast circular table immaculately dressed with silver cutlery from Steelite and the Adina range of glassware produced by German manufacturer Spieglau. The ceiling is elaborately coved in a marbled grey effect and lit by an ornate chandelier accessorised with red glass beading whilst on the floor is an original rich red Persian rug which took one family 2 and a half years to make.

With its south west facing aspect, this elevated first floor room enjoys the benefit of stunning late afternoon and evening sunsets which further stimulate the relaxing and moody atmosphere.

The room is available for private and corporate events and has broadband and projection facilities.

Regular winemaker’s events, tastings and dinners will also be held in the room. Information on these will be available on the l’ortolan website.
