Food and Wine

Exceptional cuisine, exquisite wines and first class service all combine to make the fine dining experience at L’ortolan truly memorable.

Award winning Executive Chef, Alan Murchison, has held a Michelin star here since 2003.  The restaurant also has three AA rosettes and an AA Notable Wine List.  Alan and his highly talented team, headed up by Head Chef Nick Chappell, prepare artistic food with an awe inspiring array of tastes and textures.  The menus are modern French but with influences from other cuisines, contemporary and exciting, and produced using only the finest ingredients available.  

To complement the food, Sommelier Craig Stevens offers recommendations from the extensive wine list, including flights of wines to accompany each course on the tasting menus.  More on wine ....   

The restaurant is open Tuesday to Saturday.  Please note that you will usually be seated at your table 30 minutes after your reservation time to enable you to enjoy an aperitif in the bar and view the menus beforehand.
