L'ortolan retains Michelin star
L’ortolan is delighted to announce that it has retained its one Michelin star status, remaining Reading’s only Michelin starred restaurant.
The restaurant in Shinfield, which was first awarded with a Michelin star in 2002, is one of only 58 restaurants in England outside of London to be awarded with one Michelin star.
“Everyone at l’ortolan works exceptionally hard to maintain the superb quality food and service,” explains owner Peter Newman, “The team deserve all the praise they get. It is through their commitment and passion that we remain Reading’s only Michelin starred restaurant.“

L'ortolan Chef Elliott Lidstone says "The team is very proud to have retained the star,it is a great recognition of the hard work put in by everyone over the past year.We are all looking forward to 2010 and the new challenges it will bring."
This accolade tops off a successful twelve months for l’ortolan, which has seen the restaurant feature on BBC2s The Great British Menu as well as being recognised as one of the top restaurant in the country in the National Restaurant Awards.
